Sandra Hindman, Founder and President of Les Enluminures, has launched a sister company Sandra Hindman Art Advisory LLC -- a bespoke advisory service for both new and seasoned clients interested in the Middle Ages, especially medieval manuscripts. For more than 30 years, under Dr. Sandra Hindman's leadership and guidance through galleries in Chicago, New York, and Paris, Les Enluminures has worked with museums, libraries, and private collectors throughout the world to buy, sell, and maintain either individual works or entire collections of medieval manuscripts, illuminated manuscript leaves, and historic jewelry. The focus and expertise offered by Sandra Hindman Art Advisory LLC is unique and fills a gap in the art market.
This new comprehensive service expands upon Dr. Hindman’s experiences and the resources of Les Enluminures to provide a full spectrum of practical and strategic services. These include negotiated purchases and sales for museums, libraries, and private clients; advice on the acquisition and dispersion of whole collections or individual manuscripts; liaison with recognized auction houses; professional guidance on insurance, estate planning, and housing and display of medieval works; and other individualized and customized assistance clients need.

An internationally recognized scholar and established gallerist, Sandra Hindman (Ph.D., Cornell University) has unparalleled experience in her field. She has published numerous articles and reviews and well over a dozen scholarly books on medieval manuscripts, early printing, the history of collecting, and historic jewelry. Additionally, the gallery has published more than fifty catalogues, many of them authored by her. Her decades of experience as a professor at prestigious universities, continuing as Professor Emerita of Art History at Northwestern University, are reflected in her commitment to learning and education which she brings to all transactions, along with unusual transparency and complete discretion. She lectures frequently in North America, Europe, and Asia in English, French, and Italian. As a veteran gallerist, she has handled thousands of manuscripts, with and without illumination, many illuminated manuscript leaves, and historic jewelry (she is also a graduate of the GIA), and she maintains deep and long-standing relationships with museums, libraries, private collectors, and auction houses throughout the world. In 2023 the French Republic named Sandra Hindman a Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.)
